Issue
Issue:
On certain school buses, the snap rings for the wheel hub fasteners could be missing. As a result, the wheel hub fasteners could loosen and cause the wheel(s) to detach.
Safety Risk:
A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a wheel that separates could create a hazard for others.
Corrective Actions:
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the hub nut retaining system and, if necessary, replace any damaged parts.
