Issue
Issue:
On certain electric school buses, the power steering pressure line may not be properly connected to the brake booster. As a result, power steering fluid could leak and cause a loss of power steering and power brake assist.
Note: Vehicles that were inspected under Transport Canada recall no. 2022-618 also require this repair.
Safety Risk:
A loss of power brakes can cause a sudden increase in brake pedal force and lead to an increase in stopping distance. A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort. Both could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your bus to a dealership to replace the power steering pressure line and brake booster line.
