Issue

Issue: On certain vehicles, the occupant classification system (OCS) may not work properly due to interference between seat components. As a result, the airbag system can turn off the passenger-front airbag even when a passenger is seated in the front passenger seat. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with the Executive package. Safety Risk: An airbag system that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Lexus will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the front passenger seat. If interference is found, the dealer will adjust the seat as necessary, and re-calibrate the occupant classification system.
