Issue

Issue:
On certain special edition AMG G63 4x4² models, the rear axle transmission housing could crack and cause oil to spill onto the road. This problem could also cause the rear axle transmission to fail. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power to the rear wheels.

Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, an oil leak could create a hazard for other road users.

Corrective Actions:
Mercedes-Benz advises you to stop driving your vehicle immediately. The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a local Mercedes-Benz dealership to arrange for towing and an inspection. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.
