Issue:
On a small number of trucks, the castle nut connecting the power steering assist cylinder to the steering arm may not have been tightened properly and the cotter pin may be missing. As a result, the nut could loosen and separate, causing a loss of steering control.
Safety Risk:
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Mack will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect, tighten the castle nut and install a new cotter pin.
