Issue
Issue:
On certain plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models, the pedestrian alert siren may be missing or not connected properly. As a result, the vehicle may not make a reverse warning sound when backing up, which doesn't meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations.
Safety Risk:
A pedestrian alert siren that doesn't work could create an increased risk of injury for other road users.
Corrective Actions:
FCA will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, secure or replace the connector for the pedestrian alert siren. If the siren is missing, one will be installed.
