Issue
Issue:
On a small number of vehicles, a software problem could cause the pedestrian warning sounds not to work when the vehicle slows from 30 to 25 km/h. As a result, the vehicle may not produce enough sound to be detected by a pedestrian or cyclist. Electric vehicles are required to make a minimum sound level when operating at low speeds.
Safety Risk:
Pedestrian warning sounds that don't work could create an increased risk of injury for pedestrians and cyclists.
Corrective Actions:
General Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the body control module.
