Issue
Issue:
On certain trucks, hardware inside the high-voltage distribution unit (HVDU) and DC junction box (DCJB) could loosen and detach. If this happens, the loose hardware could cause a short circuit. This could cause a sudden loss of power while driving, including a loss of power steering assist and reduced braking.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of power could increase the risk of a crash. A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort, and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, reduced braking can cause an extended stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Lion Électrique will advise owners by mail and provide you with precautions that may be taken to reduce the safety risks. Lion will also contact owners and arrange for a service team to replace the hardware inside the high-voltage distribution unit and DC junction box.
