Issue
On certain school buses, the high-voltage cables could be damaged by contact with the surge tank. If this happens, there could be a sudden loss of power while driving, including a loss of power steering assist and reduced braking.
Safety risk
A sudden loss of power could increase the risk of a crash. A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort, and increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, reduced braking can cause an extended stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective actions
Lion Électrique will advise owners by mail and provide you with precautions that may be taken to reduce the safety risks. Lion will also contact owners and arrange for a service team to replace the surge tank support. The high-voltage cables will be inspected for damage, and replaced if necessary.
