Issue
Issue:
On a small number of fire trucks, the welds on the stabilizer beams could crack. If this happens, the stabilizer beams could fail when the aerial ladder or platform is elevated, and the truck could tip on its side.
Safety Risk:
A truck that tips over can create a risk of injury.
Corrective Actions:
Pierce will notify owners by mail and arrange for an inspection of the stabilizer beams. If cracks are found, the stabilizer beams will be replaced. Pierce advises not to use the aerial ladder or platform until the recall inspection has been completed.
