Issue
On a small number of cargo trailers equipped with a Warn VR EVO winch, water could leak into the remote control for the winch. If this happens, the winch could activate on its own without a user input. Note: This recall only affects remote controls with wireless capability that aren't waterproof.
Safety risk
A winch that activates on its own could create a risk of injury.
Corrective actions
Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you contact Warn Industries for instructions on how to turn off the wireless function of the winch. Warn will also offer a replacement corded-only remote if your remote is damaged.
