Issue
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the software update that was installed by a Ford dealer during recall 22C27 (Transport Canada recall number 2022-636) may not be effective. As a result, a second repair is required.
Under certain conditions when the vehicle is operated in 4WD-Low (4L) mode, the rearview camera image could reappear on the display after shifting out of reverse.
Note: This recall doesn't affect vehicles that received an over-the-air software update for the SYNC module as a part of recall 22C27.
Safety Risk:
A rearview camera image that displays when the vehicle is not in reverse may confuse or distract the driver. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update for the SYNC module to each vehicle. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.
