On certain fire trucks, the transmission control module (TCM) may not be programmed correctly. As a result, the pump mode may not engage properly, and the truck may not pump water.
A fire pump that doesn't work could cause a lack of water pressure for fighting fires. This could delay emergency response and increase the risk of injury.
Spartan Fire will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to an Allison Transmission service center to reprogram the TCM.
