Transport Canada Recall - 2023040 - GENERAL MOTORS
Summary
Please see corrective actions section below
Issue
Issue:
On certain trucks equipped with a diesel engine and dual fuel tanks, the rear fuel pump may not transfer enough fuel to the front tank. If this happens, you may notice an engine hesitation and the check engine light may turn on. The engine could also stall suddenly while driving, and you may not be able to restart it.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to inspect the rear fuel tank and fuel pump module, and replace them if necessary. The dealer will also add a fuel tank vent hose.
