Issue
Issue:
On certain digger derricks and aerial devices, a weld in the boom structure could crack. If this happens, the boom could fail.
Safety Risk:
A boom that fails could create a risk of injury for the operator and people nearby.
Corrective Actions:
Terex will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for inspecting the boom structure. Terex advises you to perform a daily crack inspection of the boom structure welds, and not to use the digger derrick or aerial device if a weld is cracked. The company will repair or replace the boom, as necessary.
