2020 | DITCH WITCH | VT-SERIES TRAILER, 2021 | DITCH WITCH | VT-SERIES TRAILER

Issue

Issue:
The compliance label on certain VT24 trailers lists the wrong gross axle weight ratings (GAWR). The label incorrectly lists the capacities as 5,443 kg (12,000 lb.) per axle. The label should instead list the axle capacities as 5,150 kg (11,354 lb.) per axle. This could lead to overloading and cause poor handling or a tire failure.

Safety Risk:
Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Charles Machine Works Inc. will mail a new compliance label to each owner. They will also send you a revised operator's manual with the recommended tire pressure and the corrected axle weight ratings. If you would like help to install the label, you can contact your local dealer or the company.
