Issue
On certain motorcycles, the clutch cover bolts may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the bolts could loosen over time and create an oil leak.
Safety risk
An oil leak near the rear tire could affect handling and control of the motorcycle. This could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, oil that leaks onto hot components could create a fire risk.
Corrective actions
BMW Motorrad will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the clutch cover bolts.
