Transport Canada Recall - 2022561 - BMW

Issue:
On a small number of iX M60 models, the final drive gear in the rear axle drive unit may not have been properly welded. As a result, the weld seam of the final drive gear could break. If this happens and the vehicle is parked without the parking brake on, it could roll away.

Safety Risk:
A parked vehicle that moves unexpectedly could increase the risk of an injury or a crash.

Corrective Actions:
None of the affected vehicles have been sold to retail customers. BMW will replace the rear axle electric drive unit before the vehicles are sold to retail customers.
