Issue: On certain vehicles, a brake line may leak at the threaded connections and cause reduced braking. If this happens, the driver may experience increased brake pedal travel and a change in brake pedal feel (soft or low pedal). Note: A brake fluid leak would cause the low brake fluid warning light to turn on in the instrument panel. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the affected brake lines.
