Issue

Issue: On certain trucks, a bolt for the lower joint on the steering shaft may not have been installed correctly. As a result, the joint could disconnect and cause a loss of steering. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the lower joint on the steering shaft, and if necessary, re-install the pinch bolt.
