Issue
On certain motorcycles, a poor electrical connection at the Vehicle Control Module (VCM) could lead to an intermittent or total loss of forward lighting. Note: If this happens, the high beam indicator on the gauge cluster will flash. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2019-252.
Safety risk
A loss of lighting would reduce visibility and could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective actions
Indian Motorcycle will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect the VCM and harness connector for damage, and update the VCM software. If the VCM and/or harness connector are damaged, the dealer will repair the harness and replace the VCM.
