Issue
Issue:
On certain RV trailers, the emergency trailer breakaway switch may not be wired correctly. If the battery disconnect switch is in the "Off" position, the breakaway switch does not have power. As a result, the trailer brakes may not self-apply if the trailer separates from the tow vehicle.
Safety Risk:
A trailer breakaway switch that does not work properly could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your travel trailer to a dealer to rewire the trailer breakaway switch. You must ensure that the battery disconnect switch is turned to the "On" position while towing, until the recall repairs are completed.
