Issue

Issue:
On certain trucks and buses, the steering gear may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the steering gear could break and cause a loss of steering.

Safety Risk:
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the serial number on the steering gear, and replace it, if necessary.
