Issue
On certain motorhomes, the power steering pressure line may not be properly connected to the brake booster. As a result, power steering fluid could leak and cause a loss of power steering and power brake assist.
Safety risk
A loss of power brakes can cause a potentially sudden increase in brake pedal force and lead to an increase in stopping distance. A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low speeds. Both could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective actions
Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a Ford dealership to inspect the connection between the power steering pressure line and the Hydroboost unit. The power steering line will be replaced if the connection is not secure.
