Issue
Issue:
On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause a computer reset. If you shift to reverse while the computer resets, there may be a delay before the rearview camera image appears on the touchscreen. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display within 2 seconds of shifting into reverse.
Note: This problem only affects vehicles equipped with Autopilot Computer 2.5 running a firmware release between 2021.44.25 and 2021.44.25.2. This computer reset does not affect other displays or vehicle controls found on the touchscreen.
Safety Risk:
A rearview camera image that is slow to appear could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Tesla will email a notice to owners and provide an over-the-air firmware update to fix this problem. There is no further action required if your vehicle has firmware release 2021.44.30 or a later release.
