Transport Canada Recall - 2021774 -
Brand(s)
Summary
Affected products
2020 | FORD | TRANSIT
Issue
On certain all-wheel drive vehicles, the rear driveshaft could detach from the transfer case and cause a loss of power to the wheels. The driveshaft could also damage other nearby parts, including brake lines. The vehicle could also move when the transmission is in park if the parking brake is not used.
Safety risk
A driveshaft separation can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective actions
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the bolts that attach the driveshaft to the transfer case. If any of the bolts are loose, the dealer will replace the driveshaft, all driveshaft bolts and other related parts. If none of the bolts are loose, the dealer will replace the driveshaft bolts only.
