Issue:
On certain trucks, the steering shaft may not have been properly installed at the base of the steering column assembly. As a result, the shaft could separate from the steering gear and cause a loss of steering.

Safety Risk:
A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the steering shaft and ensure that it is installed correctly. It will be repaired, if necessary.
