Issue:
On certain vehicles, the rear license plate bracket is not positioned correctly. As a result, the license plate lamps may not provide even lighting for the license plate. Canadian regulations have specific requirements for license plate lighting.
Safety Risk:
A license plate without even lighting may be difficult to read at night.
Corrective Actions:
BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to modify the rear license plate bracket.
