Transport Canada Recall - 2021625 -
Brand(s)
Summary
Affected products
2018 | HME | 1871, 2019 | HME | AF1
Issue
On a small number of fire trucks, the wiring for the aerial controls could become damaged. If this happens, electrical wires could be exposed. This problem can also cause the aerial control system and the ladder lighting to stop working. Note: This could cause the low voltage alarm to turn on and/or diming of the aerial lighting.
Safety risk
Exposed wiring could create a risk of shock or electrocution. Additionally, a loss of power to the aerial control system could delay emergency response and increase the risk of injury.
Corrective actions
HME will notify the owners by mail and instruct you to contact your local dealer, Dependable Emergency Vehicles. The dealer will make arrangements with HME to have the vehicle(s) transported to their repair facility to be inspected and serviced. HME will replace and install new aerial components.
