Issue:
On certain vehicles, electricity spikes caused by the onboard charger could cause the battery to overheat. This could result in damage to the battery and nearby parts.
Safety Risk:
A battery that overheats can create a fire risk.
Corrective Actions:
Dana will notify owners by mail and/or e-mail, and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the 400 volt solid state relay with a 1200 volt solid state relay and perform a software update to the vehicle ECU.
