Issue:
On certain trucks, there may be an internal problem with the steering gear. As a result, the steering could suddenly become stiff or lock up while driving.
Safety Risk:
A sudden change in steering effort or a loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will contact owners and instruct you not to drive your truck. Ford will ask you to contact a dealer and arrange to have it towed to the dealership for a replacement of the steering gear.
