Issue
On certain vehicles, the flexible steel cable that connects the seat belt to the outboard side of the driver's seat may have been replaced with an incorrect part during a previous repair. Over time, this cable could flex and may eventually break. If this happens, the seat belt could detach in a crash. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles that had the driver's seat belt pretensioner replaced after a previous recall repair (recall 2016-153 or 2018-233).
Safety risk
A seat belt that detaches in a crash could increase the risk of injury.
Corrective actions
General Motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver's outboard seat belt pretensioner assembly.
