Issue

On certain vehicles, the parking brake operating shaft in the rear brake caliper could rust and become stuck. If this happens, the parking brake may not work properly. As a result, the brakes could drag or parking brake performance could be reduced. If the vehicle is not left in in gear when it is parked, it could roll away. Note: This is an expansion of recall SR-18-002 (Transport Canada Recall No. 2018-053).

Safety risk

A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash.

Corrective actions

Mitsubishi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the rear brake calipers.
