Issue
On certain motorcycles, the brake switch may not work correctly due to a manufacturing defect. As a result, the brake light could stay on. This can also cause the cruise control system not to work or could cause it to turn off.
Safety risk
A brake light that does not work properly could result in road users being confused with the rider's intentions, and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective actions
Yamaha will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the front brake switch.
