Issue

Issue: On certain trucks equipped with a gas engine, the brake vacuum pump may fail. This can cause a hard brake pedal and an increase in brake pedal effort that is required to stop the truck. If the brake vacuum pump fails, the low vacuum light will turn on. Safety Risk: A sudden increase in brake pedal effort could lead to an increase in stopping distance. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Mitsubishi Fuso will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to replace the vacuum pump. The dealer will also reroute the vacuum hose and install an exhaust heat shield.
