Issue

Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the start-stop accumulator in the transmission may have missing or loose bolts. As a result, transmission fluid could leak and eventually cause the transmission to stop working. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This problem may cause the wrench light to turn on. Safety Risk: A transmission fluid leak onto a hot surface can create the risk of a fire. Additionally, a loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the transmission start-stop accumulator.
