Issue:
On certain school buses, the nut that attaches the steering wheel to the steering shaft may not have been properly tightened. If the nut loosens, the steering wheel could detach and cause a loss of steering control.
Safety Risk:
A loss of steering control can create the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Blue Bird will notify owners by mail and provide instructions for how to inspect the torque of the steering wheel nut. If it is not properly tightened, the nut must be torqued as indicated in the recall instructions.
