Issue
Issue:
Certain brush chipper trailers were built with wheels that have an incorrect wheel nut contact area. As a result, the wheel nuts could loosen over time and fall off. If this happens, a wheel could separate from the trailer.
Safety Risk:
A wheel separation could increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that detaches from the trailer could create a hazard for the towing vehicle occupants and other drivers and nearby people.
Corrective Actions:
Vermeer will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your brush chipper to an authorized service facility to replace the wheel and tire assembly and install a new wheel/tire specification placard decal.
