Issue

Certain vehicles were delivered with an operator’s manual that has incorrect information about the automatic parking function (Auto-P). Specifically, the transmission does not automatically shift to Park when the driver unbuckles their seat belt or leaves their seat while the vehicle is stationary or moving at very low speed. If the driver relies on the Auto-P feature in these situations, the vehicle could keep moving or roll away.

Safety risk

Sudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could create a risk of injury or a crash.

Corrective actions

Mercedes-Benz will provide owners with a booklet that properly describes the Auto-P function.
