The compliance label on certain travel trailers lists incorrect information. This error could lead to overloading or over-inflation of the tires and can result in poor handling or a tire failure.
The label indicates a Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) of 2275 kg (5,000 lb.), a tire size of ST225/75R15E, a rim size of 15X6J, and tire inflation pressure of 550 kPa (80 psi).
The correct label should indicate a GAWR of 1587 kg (3,500 lb.), a tire size of ST205/75R14D, a rim size of 14X5.5J, and a tire inflation pressure of 448 kPa (65 psi).
Safety Risk:
Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
