2020 | FORD | EXPEDITION
Issue
Issue:
On certain vehicles, a problem with the front passenger seat belt buckle may cause the occupant classification system (OCS) not to work properly. In some cases, this could cause the airbag system to turn off the passenger-front airbag, even if an adult is seated in the front passenger seat. Alternatively, the airbag may not be turned off when a child seat is installed in the front passenger seat.
Note: This problem may cause the airbag warning light to turn on.
Safety Risk:
An airbag that deploys in front of a child seat, or an airbag that doesn't properly deploy in front of a passenger could increase the risk of injury in a crash
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to replace the front passenger seat belt buckle.
