Issue

Issue:
On certain vehicles, a wire harness in the rear of the vehicle could be damaged by contact with the vehicle frame. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. This can also cause the antilock brake system (ABS) not to work properly and the roll stability control (RSC) to turn off.
Note: This problem may cause the check engine light and/or ABS and traction control warning lights to turn on.

Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of engine power could create the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loss of ABS and/or RSC could also increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to inspect the wire harness for damage. The dealer will apply protective tape over the area and ensure the harness is not touching nearby parts. Any damaged wires will be replaced.
