This recall affects certain motorcycles equipped with optional colour-specific brake fluid reservoir covers. Canadian regulations require that certain safety information is provided on the brake fluid reservoir cover. On these motorcycles, that information may be missing or difficult to read. This could lead to improper maintenance of the brake system, like using the wrong type of brake fluid.
Safety Risk:
Improper maintenance of the brake system could lead to brake problems and create the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
BMW will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the brake fluid reservoir cover.
