Brand(s)
Summary
Affected products
2018 | FORD | F-150, 2019 | FORD | F-150, 2020 | FORD | F-150
Issue
On certain trucks, there may be a problem with the software that controls the daytime running lights (DRLs). When the DRLs are on and the master lighting switch is rotated from the “Autolamp” position to the “headlamp on” position, the DRLs do not lower to parking light brightness. Canadian regulations require that the DRLs turn off when the headlights are turned on. Note: This only affects trucks equipped with LED headlights and the Autolamp feature (automatic headlights).
Safety risk
Lights that are too bright could cause glare for oncoming drivers.
Corrective actions
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to update the body control module (BCM) software.
