Issue
Issue:
On certain fifth-wheel trailers, axles with the wrong load rating were installed. The trailer was built with axles rated for 2720 kg (6000 lb.), but it should have axles rated for 3200 kg (7000 lb.) As a result, the trailer could be overloaded. This could cause the leaf springs to fail and/or the axles to bend.
Safety Risk:
An axle that bends or a spring that fails could cause a loss of control, and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the axles and leaf springs with parts rated for 3200 kg (7000 lb.)
