Issue

On certain vehicles, there could be a problem with the differential locking module. This could cause the control unit not to detect the correct status of the differential lock. As a result, both the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) systems may turn off. If this happens, a warning message will appear in the instrument cluster.

Safety Risk:
If the ESP and ABS systems turn off suddenly or do not work properly, under certain road conditions, there could be an increased risk of a loss of control or a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the differential locking module. It will be replaced if necessary.
