Issue:
On certain cranes, the boom lift cylinder hose may not have been plumbed correctly and is not protected by the velocity fuse. This could result in uncontrolled movement of the boom.
Safety Risk:
Uncontrolled movement of the boom lift could increase the risk of injury to the operator and nearby people.
Corrective Actions:
Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and instruct them to inspect the boom lift cylinder hose for damage and proper plumbing. Altec Service will repair/correct any units that do not pass the inspection.
