Summary
Please see corrective actions section below
Affected products
2019 | FORD | RANGER, 2020 | FORD | RANGER
Issue
Issue:
On certain trucks, a connector for the tail lights may not be properly connected. This could cause intermittent or total loss of the tail lights, including the stop, turn, rear position, and reverse lights.
Note: This problem can cause the turn signal indicators to flash quickly or intermittently. Additionally, the following messages may appear on the instrument display: “Trailer not connected” or “Parking Aid Malfunction”.
Safety Risk:
A loss of tail lights could reduce the vehicle’s visibility. This could cause a following driver not to see that a vehicle is braking, reversing or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect underbody inline connection of the tail lights. It will be repaired as necessary.
