Issue
On certain motorcycles, the gear position switch may malfunction. This can cause the wrong gear to be indicated on the motorcycle's display. As a result, the display could indicate that the motorcycle is in neutral, when it is actually in gear. If you do not follow safe starting procedures, the motorcycle could move suddenly during start-up.
Safety risk
Sudden unintended movement of the motorcycle could increase the risk of injury and/or a crash.
Corrective actions
Indian Motorcycles will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the gear position switch.
