Issue

Issue: On certain travel trailers, a defect in the Demco ball coupler could allow it to separate from the hitch ball while being towed. If this happens, the trailer could disconnect from the tow vehicle. Safety Risk: A travel trailer that disconnects from the tow vehicle creates the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to add shims on the backside of the ball coupler to increase clamping force on the tow ball.
